Meet Laila! She's a soon-to-be two-year-old who loves spending time with her parents and adores Mickey Mouse, but, woefully, Laila is also a two-year-old who has just been diagnosed with the unimaginable: Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). This is a cancer involving the blood-forming cells that normally make a type of white blood cell called a lymphocyte. The leukemia cells multiply rapidly, crowding out the healthy cells in the bone marrow, while also spilling out into the bloodstream and other organs. ALL is the most common type of childhood cancer. About 4 out of every 5 children who have leukemia will have ALL.
So, as Laila has started chemotherapy, I knew that I had to do something to support my niece. Yes, Laila is my niece... But, unbiasedly, I believe that God gives us all a platform for a reason, and right now, Hatching for Health is my platform to help this sweet little girl!
With the love and support of her mother, Lacey, and her father, Judd Hatch, a board member of Hatching for Health, we have created the t-shirt you'll find below. This t-shirt will not only help her parents pay for her treatments but will also show Laila that she has a community around her to support her and love her.
Thank you for supporting my beautiful niece.
